Dr. Jack Hayford to Speak at International Assembly

HayfordThe General Overseer's Office officially announced today that Dr. Jack Hayford will be speaking at next year's 96th International Assembly.

Of Dr. Hayford, General Overseer Randall Howard said, "Dr. Hayford has been such a great spokesperson for Pentecostalism, a role model for pastors, and a wonderful Christian leader.  When considering special guests for this Assembly, our leaders were unanimous in their desire to invite him. We are stepping into a new threshold as a movement; and with this Assembly, we want to effectively let our pastors know that we are committed to invest in them. The development of leadership, especially pastoral leadership, is our highest priority for the years to come."

Dr. Hayford will share in two segments on Friday, July 30, during the morning and evening sessions.  The morning session will focus on pastors and lay leaders.  In the evening, Dr. Hayford will share a message on "Pursuing His Spirit," which is the theme of the Assembly.

Bishop Howards shares, "Our prayer is that this session would bring an infusion of the Spirit and inspiration to our pastors and leaders. We are anticipating a work of the Spirit, whether in a still, small voice, a direct Word from the Lord, a general touch of renewal, or whatever God wills."

Dr. Hayford has served as President of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel; Founder and Chancellor of The King's College and Seminary; and Director of The JWH School of Pastoral Nurture.  He is most widely known as Founding Pastor of The Church On The Way, Van Nuys, CA, where he was senior pastor from 1969-1999, and he still ministers on occasion as pastor-emeritus.  He has authored 52 books and written more than 400 musical works, and serves on various international/interdenominational committees and councils.  He is most referred to as "Pastor Jack"-his preferred title.

The 96th International Assembly of the Church of God of Prophecy will be held July 27-August 1, 2010 in Greensboro, North Carolina.  For additional information, visit /257395.ihtml.
