European Leadership Conference Report
Submitted by Bishop Clayton Endecott, General Presbyter of Europe/CIS/Middle East

/files/Connections/2009/March/dsc06259.jpgThe overseers of Europe, CIS and the Middle East met with General Presbyter, Clayton Endecott in Larnaca, Cyprus February 26 through March 1 for prayer, planning and fellowship. A sense of liberty was felt in our meetings, and one had to think it might be linked to the ministry of the Apostle Paul's early presence on the island. On Paul's second journey to the island it provided a moment of rest after a great storm. The sense of rest and refuge was for us ever present. The sessions were filled with great reports of churches being planted, evangelism and growth as well as calls for prayer for areas of

challenge. It was amazing to note an increasing number of miracles and ourpourings of the Spirit
throughout the area this year. The planned sessions together included a short devotion and prayer time, but in every meeting the Spirit of  the Lord swept us in to 1 and a half hours or more of prayer and worship. Bishops Howard, Feliz and Bryan shared in their respective areas of vision and bishop John Doroshuk presented a seminar on Leadership. Saturday night the overseers joined together with their wives and another 150 women and men who áttended the Euro CIS Middle East Womens Retreat led by Cathy Payne. Bishop Howard's sermon that evening culminated in a call for prayer for the fullness and the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

/files/Connections/2009/March/dsc06331.jpgDespite the warnings and signs of crises in the economy and some governments, there was no sign of worry or brokenness among the overseers and leaders about the future, on the contrary, there was a sweet sense of agreement that God will use the next months as an opportunity to preach the message of Jesus to an increasingly needy and therefore open world. In the deep times of prayer and worship the Holy Spirit spoke prophetic words of encouragement and empowerment to our leaders througout the overseers meetings. Special thanks to overseer Michael Charalumbou and his wife Soula and particularly to Cathy Payne for the coordinated efforts with the overseers meetings and the women's retreat which brought great refreshing and inspiration to our overseers and their wives. The theme of the assembly was carried into the women's retreat: Awake, and indeed with round eyes of alertness all of us left the island awakened to the loving presence and power of the Lord as leaders with fresh prayerful inspiration for a great harvest in our fields of ministry.
