Helping Hands for Kids Helps Children's Ministry Feed Hungry Children of Guatemala
Timothy and I read about the latest targeted giving project, “I Was Hungry” in the February issue of the White Wing. We were amazed that it would cost only 25cents to feed one Guatemalan child a hot lunch. Since March was mission month we shared with the kids about the need of the children in Guatemala. We told them how the children in the town of Teculutan lived in the dump and went though other people's trash to eat. We asked them to participate in the project by bringing in quarters. We collected all the money in quarters so the kids could see the impact they would have. As the children started seeing the quarters add up, they became very excited. It was inspiring for them to realize that what they had given would provide almost 4000 meals for these hungry children. We believe the children can make a difference in the lives of others; even a small thing like a quarter goes a long way.
