One of my most vivid memories of special projects in the last few years is our ministry to the the leper church in India. For much of my life I had heard of this ancient disease and was anxious about the service we would share with these saints.
I was overwhelmed by what I witnessed as the diseased saints began to assemble on the outside porch of the Rajahmundry compound. Many of the lepers who had limped in with crippled and decaying bodies, began to worship before we could even walk across the courtyard to join them. The worship was honest and sincere as tears began to spill from their eyes. I was captured by the pure delight of sons and daughters in the presence of a Holy God. Later that day as we visited in their isolated village outside of the city, there was again an outpouring of the Holy Spirit in worship and joy in their own bamboo church. The Helping Hand Ministry is blessed to partner in ministry with the church in India in assisting with some of the needs of these precious saints. Recently after receiving eviction notification, the Helping Hand ministry began funding new brick construction on property that will someday belong to the lepers.
Special Projects also includes our Mission Clothes Closet where clothes are donated to the mission field for our pastors, missionaries, and members.
The One Child Fund orphanages are also supported through special projects. To find out how to support the children in the orphanage click here.
